The answer is yes. Doing exercise can help strengthen joint stability, alleviate joint stiffness and pains and improve quality of sleep. The patients of Rheumatoid Arthritis(RA) can choose suitable method of exercise as follows according to the preference.
1. Stretching exercise

Aerobic exercise, such as swimming, cycling, can strengthen heart and lung functions and improve joint flexibility. Swimming is the best choice which can work all muscle groups of the body and improve strength and coordination of muscles; all joints of the body are relaxed, so it is a suitable choice and can be done for the long term to improve muscular endurance and joint flexibility.
3. Avoid wrong activities

You will need to quit high heels to avoid putting extra pressure on the joints. People with involved knee joint injury should also avoid climbing mountains, long-time standing, heavy load-bearing, etc. In addition, if you are in active stage with severe pains, you will need to avoid too much activities. If you are in stable stage, you can choose the above exercise to help your joints.
